Utopia is usually considered to be an ideal that exists only in thought but is unable to change our everyday lives. However, William Paris  believes utopia in fact helps us develop our creative capacities and reshape ordinary life. Utopia is not an ideal created by philosophers– it is the real struggle in our everyday lives to organize the spaces of our lives around freedom, flourishing, and solidarity instead of accumulation, alienation, and domination. Imagining a better world for farmers, farming and agriculture is an essential tool for change. Bringing together the space of thought and the space of life is the most important  task of utopia.
