Stuart Oke is a first-generation farmer who lives and works outside North Augusta, Ontario. Alongside his partner Nikki, he runs Rooted Oak farm, a vegetable and cut flower farm. Together they grow and sell their farm products at farmers markets, through their summer and winter CSA programs, and through wholesale buyers throughout the capital region. He has been an NFU member for several years and is a strong believer in the power of collective action, agroecology and food sovereignty. He has been active in coordinating NFU membership development locally in Ontario and also sits on the board and executive committee of Canadian Organic Growers.
