National Farmers Union in Manitoba welcomes reopening of MASC Offices in Western Manitoba

Brandon, MB – NFU in Manitoba and its members endorse the reinstatement of 2 Manitoba Agricultural Services Corporation (MASC) offices in western Manitoba. On Tuesday, January 21st Premier Wab Kinew and Ag Minister Ron Kostyshyn made the announcement at Brandon Ag Days.

“After the previous government under Premier Pallister and Ag Minister Blaine Peterson closed 21 offices in one go in 2021 this is a welcome improvement.  We know that there are farmers from across Manitoba that felt the impact of losing personal connections with their local MASC offices.  This doesn’t completely fix the problem but it’s a great start especially when you look at how remote farmers near Shoal Lake and Virden areas are compared to everywhere else.” – Ian Robson, Region 5 Board Member

The NFU welcomes the restoring and introduction of rural services to rural communities to improve the standard of living for farmers and rural communities.
