NFU CALLS FOR AGRICULTURE MINISTER RITZ’S RESIGNATION

Saskatoon, Sask. – The NFU is calling for the resignation of Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz, after a Federal Court judge ruled that he broke the law when he introduced Bill C- 18 into Parliament without holding a farmer plebiscite.

“Minister Ritz has disregarded the majority opinion of Western Canadian farmers. He has broken the law. We expect more of a Minister of the Crown. It is time for Gerry Ritz to resign,” stated NFU President Terry Boehm.
